Hey everyone! 

Welcome to r/YGSNARK! A new safe space created for fans, ex-fans, casual observers, etc. to snark, critique, and discuss everything related to YG Entertainment, their artists, and their fandoms without fear of judgment. This is a long time in the making and there’s been some hesitation about creating this space but ultimately, the decision was made to just do it. This space is intended for anyone and everyone that needs to get some things off their chest in regards to YG Entertainment related topics without fans jumping down your throat just because they disagree or fans jumping to just call you a hater. And with YG fans behavior, this safe space is probably needed for that.

Creating a snark subreddit for an entire company and its ever-changing lineup of artists is quite a new territory so we expect things to evolve as the community grows. This means things won't be perfect right away but the mod team is open to any feedback and we’re here to work with all members to make this subreddit the best space it can be.

Yes, this space is also for YG stans and stans of their artists. Sounds contradictory to join in on a space about snarking on or criticizing your favorite company or the company of your beloved artists? It actually doesn't have to be contradictory. We understand that even fans have their own frustrations with the things they love. And there's been quite some history of having your love of something questioned just because you aren't a blind follower or have some criticisms. This is the space for even fans to get things off of their shoulders or criticize without any harassment or being called a fake fan. If you're a YG stan, you can make any needed criticisms or rant here without being called a fake fan. If you're a fan of any of the artists and you're not happy with the direction the company is taking with said beloved artist, you can vent about it here. If you're a fan of any of the artists but you have something you want to get off your chest about the artist, their fans, their music, etc. and you don't want to be called a fake fan, this is the safe space to do it. If you're a fan of one YG artist but you have a complaint about another YG artist or their fans, this is the safe space to do it. Stans of the company or artists are allowed to use this space whenever they need to vent or criticize something here, fans aren't just instantly banned for being a fan. Everyone is allowed to use this space to snark, vent, and criticize as they need as long as the rules are followed.

This subreddit is for snarking and critiquing YG Entertainment, their artists, and their fans. Please make sure that your posts and comments are on topic and related to YG Entertainment. This can include workers in the company including the CEO and founder Yang Hyun-suk. Or even heavily associated workers like producers including Teddy Park. The main artists and groups that posts and comments should be on topic of currently includes:

• AKMU
• BLACKPINK
• Eun Jiwon
• WINNER
• TREASURE
• BABYMONSTER

There’s been some uncertainty in regards to other groups or individuals that should be included as for artists and topics to stay on topic of since we have YG Entertainment’s subsidiaries and heavily associated artists and individuals. This includes subsidiaries like The Black Label and their artists like Somi, Meovv, All Day Project, etc. And there were artists that were a part of YG Entertainment’s lineup but spent a decent amount of time in their careers out of the company like PSY, CL, G-Dragon, etc. As for now, the mod team has decided to include the current artist lineup and groups who have spent most if not all of their careers within YG. But we’d love to eventually have a discussion with future members on whether you guys would want that to change and to include subsidiaries, former artists, etc. But as for now, the list of artists to stay on topic is the list mentioned above.

We want this subreddit to be fun, fair, and safe for everyone. That means following certain rules to just make sure that things don’t go too far and out of fair snarking territory:

1. Keep it YG-related:
   • Keep things focused on YG Entertainment, their artists, and their fandoms. The artists and individuals to stay on topic of was listed above. We understand how comments under posts might divert into something else. We definitely want posts to stay on topic of YG Entertainment but if some comments divert just slightly from the topic, we won’t give punishments for that. But please make sure that comments don’t divert too much from the conversation 
2. Stay respectful to each other:
   • This subreddit is a bit of an ambitious move for letting everyone get stuff off their chest, including fans of the company or artists. That’ll mean that a lot of different people might be in this space and might have various opinions. Please be respectful of each others’ opinions. This is supposed to be a safe space to get things YG Entertainment related off your shoulders, don’t ruin that safe space just because you don’t agree with what someone says. If you see someone saying something that you disagree with, as long as it’s not breaking the rules, please just respectfully disagree and move on. If a post or comment does break the rules then just report it or bring it to the mod team’s attention and we’ll handle it ourselves
3. Keep the content to snarking and criticism:
   • This is supposed to be a safe space to snark or criticize YG Entertainment, their artists, and their fans. Even though we are allowing fans of the company or artists to snark on the company, artists, or fans, please keep the content to just snarking or criticism. If you’re trying to just fully praise one of the artists or blindly defend the company, the artists, etc. that isn’t allowed. There are other places for that kind of behavior. If you’re a fan of any of the artists but you’re criticizing the way that the company is treating your favorite artist that’s under the company, please try to limit any fan behavior language (language that's blindly defending someone you're a fan of without any logic or reason) and focus more on the criticism. If you’re a fan of the company or artists and you’re criticizing their actions, limit any fan behavior language. Just try to limit any fan behavior language for YG Entertainment and their artists as you can and primarily focus on snarking and criticism
4. No hate speech:
   • You can snark and criticize related topics here. You can snark and criticize the individuals associated with the company. But please leave out any hate and hate speech from your posts or comments here. This includes any sexism, racism, homophobia, ageism, transphobia, xenophobia, etc. That language is taking things too far and will not have any place here. Leave any hate speech out of your posts and comments here
5. No body shaming:
   • Avoid inappropriate remarks about bodies or physical appearance traits people can't control. Like hate speech, that’s taking things too far and will not be allowed here
6. No death or SA threats:
   • Just like hate speech and body shaming, death and SA threats are taking things too far. No wishing death or SA on anyone. Death and SA threats aren't allowed here
7. Blur usernames in screenshots:
   • Please blur, censor, or crop out all @'s/usernames from fanpages or other private figures in pictures or videos shared here. You do not need to blur names of any celebrity, public figure, companies, brands, and publications. But please do so for private figures who’s usernames are in any pictures or videos you share here
8. No doxxing:
   • Even though a lot of YG stans and stans of their artists do this, please don’t dox anyone here. Don’t share any personal information (phone numbers, addresses, etc.) of anyone and don’t share personal information (including but not limited to: private pictures, private accounts, work places, schools, etc.) of private figures or fans. Doxxing is just despicable and even though a lot of YG stans and stans of the company’s artists get comfortable doing that, don’t get comfortable with that behavior here 
9. No inappropriate pictures or videos:
   • Don’t share inappropriate pictures or videos here with the intention of being inappropriate. Especially of minors. That behavior isn’t allowed here

Things might seem weird and confusing as to what’s allowed here or not. We apologize for that. But please reach out to the mod team if there’s anything confusing and we’ll try to help.

We’re building this sub together so if you have suggestions, input, help, etc. The mod team is happy to help.
