Is it just me or Green Day songs are harder to play than Zeppelin, Metallica etc...

So I grew up in the 90's and back then people used to make fun of bands like Green Day for being too simple etc....

But I think people were way off. Sometimes what sounds simple is actually harder to play than something that sounds more chaotic or whatever.

Case in point, I think an average Green Day song is way harder to play than a Zeppelin song, which is a band known for having amazing musicians, and they are. Bonham is God. But I still think Green Day songs are harder to play if you are really going for an accurate rendition? Am I way off?
