Is it normal for your doctor to make you call every single month for your T?

So I got prescribed T through my primary care doctor. I only switched to her because my last doctor wouldn't prescribe T. Im in a blue state in the usa, things are pretty good for hrt here.

But everytime I need a refill the pharmacy says that it hasn't been filled or whatever. And when I call my doctor she said that I have to call her for refills and that's something I have to do every single time.

To me that just seems kind of excessive? I have to call every single month? It's not like I'm going to stop T randomly so I don't see why I have to basically confirm that I still want it every month. I've never seen anyone else talk about this... Is it normal? I get so stressed because what if she's not in office or something when I need a refill and I miss shots? Maybe I'm over thinking.
