[17] teach me something, tell me something interesting
tonight, i am going to sit down in my chair and breathe at the wall for fifteen minutes. there's about one million things i could be doing at any given moment, most of them not very enriching, some of them worth my time, but sometimes you come to the realization that you are doing a lot of the latter and not enough of the former and that maybe you should become more like the transcendentalists minus the tax evasion. well, actually, i found out just recently that thoreau did that in protest of slavery, so he probably had the right idea. what i'm trying to say is that i've been thinking a lot, but also way, way too little. my journal entries are getting shorter, and i feel that i need to unfurl the rug in my skull and shake the dust out of it. a lot of my friends are like, "hey, you should meditate," and i think that boredom is just another form of that, especially recently, so those are my plans for tonight.
i'm here as a treat to myself. sometimes you need someone to put pages in your face to learn something new. i want to consume everything, and yet i don't have the lifetime for it, and yet i'm still here, idle, not consuming anything. ugh! stupid brain chemistry. so help me out! send me articles, papers, the first chapter of your favorite book (this would be very nice!), a poem, your favorite piece of artwork or album. tell me about something you learned recently. i don't know, anything. i like anything literary, political, legal, or philosophical (which sounds like, really grossly pretentious, but you know what i mean). i'll try my best to read it all, and i'll get back to you about it. thanks in advance.
