Would you recommend joining the fandom without playing the game?

Basically, due to my disability, rhythm games are generally more distressing than fun, but I still feel drawn to this fandom due to how many neurodivergent and queer people it attracts and my general love for anime-adjanced stuff. Will I be fine with just watching the stories on youtube and reading/watching any other official material if there is any?
