My mom bought a second house and started a garden and expects me to help her with the property and land

She never asked if I want to do that. Yet when I told her months ago I wanna move out she gets angry or she cries and says ‘if you have to move out then at least move close by’. She also said that she wants me to get married and then mommy husband can move into her house with us. I hope he wouldn’t want that or that he could be able to afford his own place for us to live in.

What annoys me is I am not a very physically active person. I am not very physically strong. My mom is much older but she is much stronger. It’s just the fact that people are different.

I do not have the desire or energy to be on top of doing my own job or looking for a good job, also run back and forth between her two houses and help her do physical labor with her new garden and huge plot of land and house… like go hire people to help you, hello? She recently said that if I wasn’t here then she would have to find someone to help her. Uhh just do that now? I get that since I’m living in her house rent free I should help around. I do chores all the time and am a clean and respectful person living in her house. But I don’t want to, again, be running back and forth between two houses and doing all this physical labor!!!

I can do my part at this house I live in. I don’t have the energy or stamina to do it at her second house! I grew up in the city btw. I know nothing about any of this stuff she wants me to do. Today she told me she wants me to come to her second house tomorrow and do yard work and then sand her new porch. I told her idk how to do that. She said “if you can use a nail file, you can do this”. ???? Then why do people hire someone to sand their porches or whatever she wants me to do to make her new porch look decent? I’ve never done that in my entire life.

I can’t tell her go hire someone because I live in her first house for free. So I have to keep making excuses to not go to her second house. I don’t want to be stuck over there and then she’s trying to make me do ridiculous tasks I know nothing about. This home is HER goal. Not mine.

I know I technically cannot complain because it’s basically that she’s expecting me to help her because I’m in her home for free. I get it. I’m just saying, I don’t have the energy or knowledge to do physical labor. I left a physically demanding job (doing something else) or two years ago because I didn’t have the energy and believe me I wish I did have the energy. Im not ungrateful or lazy. I just can’t do physical work like that! Some people can but I can’t. Even if I wanted to do these things, I have my limit. I don’t have that much stamina. It’s just life.

She’s very strong physically and she’s old so idk how she has this much energy. Everyone is just different. Idk what to say. I remember working with women in my other job and they could do things I couldn’t.

I’m not very intelligent but the kind of job I can do is one where I can sit down. Like remote work on a computer.

I don’t know what to say to her to get her to stop expecting me to go work on HER property. She needs to find someone who actually wants to and/or can work physically. Maybe she has to pay them.

If I was retired I probably wouldn’t spend it doing what she’s doing. But everyone’s different and has their own things they enjoy doing.

She never asked if I want to do such things. Yet she keeps trying to get me to go live or spend some days or nights at her other house. I don’t want to! I’m not interested.

She never cares or asks what I want or feel about anything. It’s so draining. And then on top of that pressures me to go over there and to do things over there.

I plan on moving out eventually just have to get my things in order. And money is an issue too. So until that time comes, I have to put up with this. And yes I’m thankful for her letting me live here rent free. Believe me.

It’s just I need my rest. There are also dangerous things about the way she lives her life. She has a tick infested land… the dogs she owns bring ticks into the houses… and she doesn’t believe in medicine for people or pesticides or anything “unnatural” (when it suits her). So she refuses to take proper precautions to protect her or me from ticks. Why would I want to go spend my days working in a tick infested garden or home? It’s bad enough I have to constantly check for ticks in the first home I live in!!
