Epix pro won't connect to technogym bike

I have gone down a bit of a rabbit hole and have run out of ideas.

The gym i go to has a technogym excite 7000 bike. According to the spec sheet this has ANT+ so my epix pro should connect to it unless I am mistaken.

When i try to add the bike as a accessory for a indoor cycling activity i cant get it to connect and my watch doesn't show up on on the bikes connection screen.

I have been uploading my strava .tcx file since the bike syncs with strava. But the problem is since I have to manually upload activities to garmin connect, I don't get any difference to body battery and recoverey time.
