Had a genuine discussion with One Piece fans claiming it's better (AND MORE INFLUENTIAL) than Homer's Odyssey

The title says it all, was arguing with 2 irls who claimed that One Piece was better written and had more real-world impact than The Odyssey, citing the Indonesian usage and subsequent ban of the One Piece flag as proof for One Piece's cultural impact, because it apparently "started a revolution".

Ignoring the fact that they're from such different cultures and time periods that it would be outright unfair to compare them, is this not an insane take?
