50% tax on aluminum in US

To my understanding there will be a 50% tax on imported aluminum in the US. I have some items that I was planning to ship from Spain to the US that are made of about 90% but under the new Tariff laws, im sure ill get hit with the tax when it ships.

If I were to travel to Spain (or any other country) myself, unbox the items and bring it back with me Into the US via luggage, will I get hit with the same tax?

The items value is under $800. Not that it matters now but just giving info for context.
