sensing bad vibes?
We were taking Tilly to a vet that, over time, was really starting to tick me off. Every time we took her there, the vet would have something ignorant to say. She was really abrasive. This vet told us that shelties weren't meant to be pets, that she should be out herding sheep. She also told us that Tilly is too fat and we should let her go hungry once in a while.
That vet is completely off her rocker and I was fed up with her. So, we found a new vet for Tilly.
Here's the thing, though, every time we would take Tilly to that vet, she would be agitated the entire time we were there. Whining, pacing, always trying to go to the door. She would never sit down or lay down. She was constantly moving, the entire time.
Today was the first time we took her to the new vet. She wasn't agitated at all. While we were in the waiting room, she sat down between my feet. I was scratching her head and ears. She was calm the whole time.
We went back to the exam room, she laid down on the floor. Calm as could be. The vet and the vet tech came in, did the exam -- Tilly let them do whatever they had to, move her around, they were touching all over her. Not once did she try to get away from them.
When the vet checked her teeth, she did do a slight snarl. Not growling, just making the angry teeth face. I told her to stop doing that and she actually stopped doing that.
When the vet tech took her into the other room for her shots, she went right along with her, she didn't pull at the leash or fight to stay in the room with me.
I swear she must have picked up the negative vibe from that other vet's office. I'm so glad we found a new vet.
