Brick home structural damage

Hi, we had a contractor attempt to do a “facelift” to our kitchen. When he took down the dry wall he noticed the back wall of the house was not properly connected to the rest of the house and immediately stopped the project until the issue is dealt with. We had a structural engineer and 2 contractors come out. We have to have the entire brick wall, cinder block, windows, doors, deck, garage- all replaced in order to safely live here. We contacted insurance and they denied our claim, but contractors and engineers have told us to hire a private adjuster because we should get something to help us towards this. They believe it had to be caused by “something” that isn’t just structural. This entire project is a nightmare. Was just looking for any advice if anyone has gone through this. We are pretty lost in this entire process. Worst part is, we live in a twin and this means our neighbors have to replace the entire back of their home as well.
