Do you pay rent with your aid?

Long story short, I need to rent an apartment in the next couple of months. I’m working part time and going to school full time. My income is basically the same as what my rent would be (based on searches I’ve done for studio apts in my area), so I’d be using financial aid for other necessary expenses (or using it for rent and using my income for other expenses). Does anyone else do something similar? Is this a bad idea? Basically I’m skeptical about counting this as part of my income and renting an apartment based on the assumption that I’ll receive financial aid.

I know this is probably not recommended but I was just wondering if anyone else uses aid this way or what the typical arrangement is.
