How to retire sort of early?

I’ve been at the same company for 25 years—started when I was 19. Honestly, I’m just tired of it: the people, the politics, and the constant professional skulduggery. I’ve done well and saved consistently from the start, so I feel grateful for that.

But now, I want to “retire” from this company before 50—not retire from working altogether. I want to move into something that actually brings me joy and feels fulfilling. I know it’ll probably pay less than what I’m making now, but I truly believe I’d be happier, physically and mentally healthier and more at peace.

Any advice on how to make that transition smoothly?
