Could someone explain to me why there is a group of players who cannot understand that there is a large portion of players for whom the story is just as important as the gameplay?

I can't understand why so many people are suddenly so outraged that a large portion of gamers love story driven games and prioritize narrative over gameplay.

Someone recently asked me why I bought the new Mafia game when I could watch all cutscenes for free on YouTube. This is such a stupid question. I bought this game for the GAMEPLAY and the STORY. Is this really so hard to understand? If I just watch the cutscenes online, then I will never experience the same emotions because I won't be able to experience the gameplay mixed with the story at the same time. Sure, I know there's not much gameplay compared to other open-world games, but THERE IS gameplay, and it doesn't just last for one fucking hour.

I can agree that the price for such a game is too high, but that’s another topic.
