1st oil change opinions

New FL5 approaching the 1K mile mark and hoping to get some recs/advice on what mileage is best for this. Ive heard everything from 600 miles all the way up to 4000. The dealer is recommending change at 1500 miles. Also, any recommedations for anything else that would be good to check on at that time? I plan on doing the oil changes myself but I get the first one for free at the dealer so, gonna take advantage and have them give it another checkup while its there.
