How can I complete a circular seam with my over locker without it cutting into the end?
I hope I can explain this right! This is an issue for seams that are completed in a circle (ie sewing the top half of a dress to the bottom half, or sewing a sleeve into an armpit). When Im using my over locker for one of these types of seams, I'll start sewing at a point, and when I've sewed the seam all around and I and return to that starting point, I find that there's no way to complete the seam without my machine cutting into the starting point. Ive tried to finish the seam by sewing outwards and trailing off, but that gives the seam a 'lifted off' appearance that I think looks terrible (and is also not secure). Looking forward any tips - maybe I could disable the cutter before finishing the seam, but I'm not sure if it's possible to do that mid seam. Btw mh machine is a singer professional 5. Thanks for any advice and sorry if I'm not explaining the issue well!
