Tongue piercing jewelry causing pain

So I have a tongue piercing that has been downsized and healed for over a year now. The jewelry is a barbell and the place the bottom of it usually rests has gotten an indent from it and is now starting to hurt. Its not infected or anything its just slight discomfort. Is there anything I could do about that (like different jewelry, etc) or do I just deal with it? Thank you ahead of time btw
