Public fallout leads to no friends
I moved to Ireland in 2010 when I was 22, and that’s when I met my girlfriend, who later became my fiancée.
In 2020, however, we experienced a very public fallout at a friends party thag we attended. While it wasn’t physical or abusive, it significantly affected how my friends perceived us, leading to a breakdown in communication in the months that followed.
Since then, I’ve felt like they’ve kept their distance from me (or my connection with her), and I haven't tried to reach out. It leaves me feeling like I don’t have any friends at all. I have a few friends back home, but our bond seems to fade as time passes. It just doesn't feel the same anymore. As someone who often struggles to connect with my emotions, I have to admit I’m really finding it hard without a male friend to relate to. I’d even say I’m feeling quite lonely.
I’d love to hear any suggestions on how to address this?
