I understand the obsession with gold. But perhaps the easiest investment strategy I’ve come up with in general is playing ratios. Basically 1000s of years of recorded data. Equities would never give such a soft ball. But the gold/silver communities are entirely different from equities communities. People who stack gold and/or silver don’t like making money. This baffles me. I ignored gold/silver for years because the aggregate returns for each are quite stinky. Play the long ratio game and the return is quite reasonable. But very few people actually try to do it effectively. Meanwhile in equities, everyone is twisting themselves into knots to squeeze out a couple more points on strategies that are highly speculative and convoluted. The gold/silver ratio strategy is a wonderful and simple median that most do not care about.

Gold/silver routinely peaks around 1:80 to 1:100. Like clockwork. Wait long enough, it will happen. Then it drops out to 1:30. Like clockwork. The gains in between are almost too good to be true-considering how stupid easy it is to play. It’s like a life hack everyone likes to overlook. It’s bonkers. Requires zero skill. Watch as silver steamrolls gold in the near-intermediate future.

Learning this investment strategy first and foremost is probably one of the greatest introductions to responsible investing a child could ever have. All of mine will start playing the ratio game first. The skills that make people rich later in life.
