Should I buy the game in my circumstances?

I've been looking forward to buying elden ring for a while, and happened to have no other game left to play (completed every game I had to the last bit) recently so I wanted to buy the game. However, since the school year is starting soon, I will be very busy with final exams and very important preparations for my future, and will probably only be able to dedicate a couple hours a week to the game.
I'm wondering if the game is suited for very short sessions? I don't want to throw my money at a game I would only be able to play once a month when I have a lot of free time.
