Wins are W, D are draws, and L are losses. EOMM wants to avoid churn (players leaving).

There are many differing interpretations:

* Long losing streaks are not EOMM. Losing after a wining streak is not EOMM. These would cause high churn, so EOMM would avoid it.
* One sided matches are not EOMM. High back and forth give higher retention and is just a sign of bad match making (comment on that later).
* Multiple people maining the same role (usually dps) put on one team is may or may not be EOMM, but it will also happen naturally because match making does not care about roles.

Actual EOMM as described by the paper:

* Bot matches in quick play. Used to break up losing streaks which would otherwise cause high churn. There is no evidence that match making purposefully makes one sided matches using real people in qp or ranked.
* Extremely close games or constant back and forth, however this can also be a sign of balanced match making.
* Long wining streaks.

So why does ranked or qp match making suck?

* Because the match making cannot tell the difference between a celestial player that got ranked reset between an actual gold-plat player, causing one sided matches.
* Because qp match making is more loose when it comes to putting different skill levels in the same lobby.
* Because players themselves can get very unlucky or tilt.
* Probably more I don't know about.

We need to get a straight definition of "EOMM" for any productive conversation
