Has there ever been any kpop news that really surprised you?

Usually when news or announcements drop, regardless of the content, there's usually some kind of build up to it. Maybe not regular updates about upcoming news, but just seeing how things had been progressing from the public eye, you weren't really surprised. For example, I don't think anyone was surprised when some Red Velvet members didn't resign. Saddened maybe, definitely. But not surprised.

I'm asking if there's a news that dropped so suddenly or out of the blue that you can truly say you didn't see it coming. I'll say I was caught off guard when the news broke that Everglow hadn't received monetary compensation over the course of their career. You could argue it isn't that surprising considering the way their contract was likely set up, like after the news dropped and people started connecting the dots to find the reason they ended up in that situation. But for me it was still a major "wait, what, how" moment.
