Device default effects, on or off?

Recently bought a new pair of headphones, Beyerdynamic DT 700 PRO X. I've had them for about a month now, and I was poking around in the audio settings on Windows 11 (this is my first real nice good quality pair of headphones) and noticed a setting called device default effects under audio enhancements. Should I enable this? I don't know what the audio quality difference is between the two, but part of me feels like I should disable it to let me headphones do the work? Or maybe I should keep it on, because then my headphone's "default effects" will be applied? Is that how that even works?

Let me know, no idea what I'm doing, couldn't find much online about it so I figured I'd ask here and discuss. Thanks!
