Modding assistance plz

hello, i just purchased skyrim from GoG as it was on sale and i wanted to get into pc modding for the game but im running into some issues mainly with the script extender and skyui. when i boot up sse with script extender and the unofficial skyrim patch i dont get any errors but if i add skyui i get incompatibility errors upon loading in. im wondering if it has anything to do with my game installation. on my gog page its says the game i have is the special edition but vortex mod manager sees it as ae ver 1.6.1179. did i do smth wrong? is there anything to do fix it? i just wanna play with the precision mod and graphical overhauls.
