Introducing 13 month old and 3 month old.

My 13 month old cat has been an only cat until two days ago. My daughter (13) wanted her own cat. The 3 month old cat is staying with my daughter in her room only for now while we are introducing them.

Day 1 and 2 I didn’t do anything. My cat could tell there was another cat in the house obviously and hissed under the door a few times, but mostly ignored it.

Today is day 3 and I had my daughter put the kitten’s wet food against the door and I put my cat’s food against the door as well. The kitten ate and didn’t notice anything, but my cat wouldn’t approach the door to eat, she ran from it. I had to move the bowl back about 3 feet then she ate.

It seems like the kitten doesn’t mind, I know she was fostered with adult cats and her litter, but my cat is having a hard time so far. What should I do next?
