Anyone noticing more luxury cars street parked in Boerum Hill?
I am fully aware that this doesn't matter at all and doesn't impact my life in any way but I've been seeing more luxury SUVs in the area in the last month or two than I've seen in the previous 10 years living here and I'm trying to figure out why.
I'm interested in cars so I keep an eye out when walking around the neighborhood and the cars have always been what you'd expect from low key rich people. Practical boring decent cars. Toyota, volvo, subaru, kia, honda, mazda, sometimes the occasional porsche.
In the last month or so though I've seen a dramatic increase in new BMW, Mercedes, and Audi SUVs parking on my block and adjacent blocks. There's also at least two different cyber trucks i see regularly, one in a ridiculous mirrored wrap, plus other misc. dbag cars like a lamborghini urus, g wagons, and a durango hellcat.
Are the boomers who owned the brownstones dying and their shitty kids are moving in? Is this people from the gowanus and 4th ave developments who can afford $4000/mo rent for a smelly 1br apartment and $1500/mo for a car payment but are too cheap to pay for a garage?
