Can Scorpios truly erase someone from their lives entirely, including any memory of the relationship?

At 17, I fell in love with a Scorpio who proposed (young love, I know). He dreamed of opening a custom car shop and often disappeared for weeks. When he returned he was very loving. Without cell phones, I couldn’t contact him and eventually met someone new. One day, months later, he called to share that he had opened his shop and wanted to marry me, but I told him I was seeing someone else. Some time later, I was at a party with my new boyfriend and Scorpio happened to be within two feet of me. He completely iced me out. Now, after over thirty years, we’ve reconnected, but he doesn’t remember much of our past. It's not an age thing. He remembers events around that time that involved mutual friends. We’ve grown close again, but I still remain mystified as to his lack of memory regarding us. Can other Scorpios relate to this?
