# Predictions/strong inferences:

**1. Flins may be some kind of supernatural human or non-human-being. It's highly possible he once was a supernatural being turned human.**

\- His secondary title is “Shadowy Lights, Stranger Wights” A “wight” is a person regarded as a specific kind, especially unfortunate. OR A spirit, ghost, or other supernatural being.

\- If the "shadowy lights" refer to the power he wields in gameplay, it appears to be connected to supernatural beings like that black ghost-like creature that appeared around weaker looking, ghostly blue flames in Flins leaked idle animation that he blinked away with a blue birst.

\- Flin's body briefly turns into a shadow with glowing eyes during his idle, which may be connected to the same dark creature that he blinks away in his idle animation.

\- Flins carriess lantern encasing a light blue flame that he has the ability to go invisible or "ghost" by seemingly tranfering himself into that flame. Weve seen him appear to travel invisible or as only that flame before appearing suddenly in the gamescom anim.

\- During Flin's elemental burst, he briefly turns into some kind of half shadow with sharp glowing blue eyes and what looks like teeth.

\- During the newest trailer, Flins described the human prospective as if hes never seen through it before.

**2. Flin's wish is to act as a "light" over the graveyard that constantly repels the "darkness" (wild hunt and possibly other Abyss)**

\- Flins is a part of the Lightkeepers. The reason someone would want to "keep" a "light" would be to keep a place illuminated, or in other words, remove all darkness. The name suggests a sense of preservation, as if the "light" is something to protect.

Weve seen metaphors like this before. In Mauvika's first voiceline, she says "With the flames to guide us across time, we took a land shrouded in darkness, and used our own blood and tears to forge it into a home.", likely refering to 500 years ago when the Abyss invaded Natlan.

(Enjou mentions that after the Muratans settled in Tenochtzitoc, they "lived in neglect for millennia until darkness returned once more", implying that the settlement took place 1000 years before the Abyssal invasion of Tenochtzitoc.) from wiki

Weve seen the flames of Natlan described as a "light" that drives away the "darkness" (abyss)

(She casts her inspiring gaze upon every warrior, every Saurian. She calls upon every flame of Natlan, uniting all fires into a bright light to drive away the darkness.) (Mauvika Official Intro)

Flins is essentially the same as in his Drip Marketing, we learn that he gaurds the graveyard near the lighthouse. in the Gamescome, we see him fight the wildhunt.

\- Flins is able to leave his Graveyard to pursue his storytelling hobby, suggesting that night times or more specifically "foggy nights" (gamescom) are when the Wild Hunt appears, and when he goes to fight and gaurd until its over.

\- Flin's station at the Graveyard could easily be metaphorically connected to his lantern. So long as there is light, the darkness will always be repelled.- In the absence of light, the darkness closes in. It may be that, as a member of the light keepers, and as the one who presides over the graveyard, his Wish is to keep the “light” by constantly “repelling” the “darkness” of the Wild Hunt (Abyss). Just like his forebearers, this Wish has no set end. So long as the Wild Hunt attacks, Flins aspires to be the light that constantly repels the darkness stationed at the cemetery near the light house.

The way he carries out his Wish is by eliminating the wild hunt threats as soon as they step too close to the graveyard for as long as he plans to guard it, just like how a real lantern’s excited electrons constantly repel real darkness through constant movement.

So the reason he has a Electro Moonwheel could be because he has the same metaphorical function as a lightbulb.

**3. The flame inside Flin's Lantern could be extremely fragile, extremely dangerous, or more likely, both.**

\- It's inclosed in a Lantern instead of being in a torch or constantly in his hand. This implies that should that special flame be free, outside forces could pose a danger to it, and it could pose a danger to anyone and anything around it.

\- When its inside the Lantern, it burns blue like a flame. But as seen in the Song of the Welkin Moon trailer, when its outside the flame, it crackles with electricity. A single blow from his mouth caused a chain reaction of explosions that appear to turn the wild hunt arms to ash. The reason it crackles is likely due to Flins having an Electro Moon Wheel and him holding it is causing a more direct connection between it and his Moon Wheel

\- Since the flame is of a special nature, its highly possible that the lantern is to protect it, but when it sits in his hand and crackles, it becomes a chaotic weapon others would want protecting from.

**4. From everything before this print, we can infer that the flame is connected to some kind of death related paranormal power.**

\- Flames in Genshin are often connected to death (Sacred flame, Incandesent Ode of Ressurection, Hu Tao's fire rituals, etc)

\- We see similar blue flames of a duller nature in his Idle animation in the trailer when that ghostly spirit appears

\- Flins presides over a graveyard, also heavily associated with death

**5. Flins could be very, very old and even immortal. Its possible that he is dead or at a state close to death like a Wraith**

\- Supernatural beings tend to be able to live for an extremely long time.

\- Flin's is always shone to have dull eyes and a tired expression despite being able to move extremely fast and talk without a hint of weariness. This reminds of Qiqi.

\- In the Song of the Welkin Moon trailer, Flins is first shone as N narrates "It was not until the funerary year until the primordial voice once again cried out in the darkness."

\- To act like a gentlemen right before destroying some Wild Hunt implies a degree of persistence or permanence in how he acts. This implies that hes acted in such a way, or a similar way, for an extremely long time. Long enough to be able to move like you're away and look like you're dead.

\- Unlike other characters, even Qiqi, even Ineffa when she's off, Flins is shown to have completely dull eyes. A single shade of color, seemingly only shaded by lights unrelated to his eyes since his VA announcement shows them as completely solid as well.

\- He says "The night cometh" and "The long sleep beckons", which implies either an old timier way of speaking or that hes taking a liking to certain writing styles.

\- Flin's elegent way of speaking is abnormal to the warriors of the Lightkeepers as Illuga says "Don't you find it strange how a warrior like that carries himself with such a refined air?"

\- The bags and dullness in his eyes suggest a lack of sleep. Theres a chance that he's unable to sleep or chooses not to (since he approaches cities to tell stories but that was at sundown, and he was seen in Nod Krai during the day in the trailer.)

**6. If Flins's circumstances would have us expect him to be “dead”, his Moon Wheel could be what's keeping him alive.**

\- If the flame in his Lantern associates so much with death, and his ghostly appearances and abilities as mentioned prior, theres a strong chance that his Electro Moon Wheel is preventing the "death" in some way.

\- We've seen Ineffa destroy her core, yet live because her Moon Wheel built her a new one. It was also her "secret key" and what fully unlocked when Ineffa transcended her curse. Its very possible that Flin's moonwheel is the same, except its keeping the supernatural spirit flame from going out.

\- Normally when flames meet Electro, wed expect the flame to burn out extremely quickly. Flin's flame seems to be able to sustain itself even after being used against the Wild Hunt as he has no worries using it to cause explosions much bigger than it is.

\- Its possible that there is a metaphor for seeing death as "darkness" and Flins, just like how he repels it over the graveyard, he repels it within himself, keeping himself alive/stable with the presence of his Moon Wheel, which is attached to his Wish as we learned in Ineffa's Moon Wheel story.

**7. Flins finds fun, fulfilment, or some level of positive feedback from carrying himself elegenantly, eloquently, and mysteriously. As well as telling stories.**

\- Illuga says that he uses Eloquence (fluent or persuasive speaking or writing.) to "get what he wants". There was no alarm or urgency in his voice as he approached the Traveler with “This is no place to linger on a foggy night. Allow me to escort you out.” which could easily mean "I want you to get out of here this place is dangerous."

\- “I’m afraid you have the wrong person. Now, begone.” \*He says after catching a presumably wild hunt abyss hand trying to reach for him, and before raising the blue flame and blowing it, appearing to turn the arms to ash and cause a chain reaction of explosions.\*

\- Carrying himself with a "refined air" is considered abnormal for a warrior according to Illuga.

\- In a similar way to Fischl, nearly all of his speech sounds like something you'd read instead of hear. His words constantly have narrative depth as if his language is subtext, giving his words an air of mystique. Since we know he's a good storyteller from his Drip Marketing, a hobby not connected to his duties in the slightest, his entire way of carrying himself could be connected to fun, fulfillment, or some level of positive feedback just like Fischl.

\- During his elemental burst, in the trailer, we witness him posing while surrounded by flinging bodies of the Wild Hunt. Also reminds of Fischl.

\- We witness him smiling during battle 0:49 of the trailer

\- If he is immortal, and if he doesnt sleep much or at all, we could imagine it would be a very boring life. Remincent of Yae Miko, his stories may be how he has fun in an otherwise boring life. Classic case of Old and Bored.

\- Instead of speaking of his past, drip marketing story says he has a strong nack for telling "unforgettable tales". In order to truly see the power and nature of telling a “unforgettable tale”, lets think of what a forgettable tale would be. Imagine if Dragon Ball Z was told as if someone was transcribing every action taken. Its a collection of truth, but it doesnt have anything other than an infodump to possibly entertain the readers.

Yet instead, Flins chose to recount stories and very possibly his heavy loss operation in the drip marketing "with perfect measuredness, just as in conversation, never excessive. The past, through his words, made listeners think to themselves: "What an unforgettable tale!""

He aslo "did not deign to answer questions about his origins or whether he had any siblings. Instead, he was more inclined to talk about distant, unrelated matters." Sounds like Fischl.

\- "He invariably selected tales perfectly tailored for public retelling."

\- If storytelling and his refined air are connected, its possible that the reason he's so myserious is not because he simply is, its because he chooses to be as a hobby.

**Weaker predictions:**

1. While researching i came across something called "will-o-the-wisp" online, translating to "foolish fire" and also called "ignis fatuus". If Flins has any connection to this, he may also have a connection to the Fatui. If not, we may see him or something about that blue power get involved with the Fatui somehow. Also, the wilowisp appears blue in Pokemon LOL

2. Flins may lead threats to him directly OR is constantly being saught after due to some kind of special signature that causes red hands (might be more of the wild hunt) to get excited and zoom towards him.

we saw when the hands zipped towards him, who first appeared as some kind of watery purple circle, blue flames vanished in the air as Flins stopped them.

Flins could be an immortal supernatural being carrying a Ghost Overloaded flame with the metaphorical functionality of a lightbulb who tells stories while larping as an edgy Shakespearian because fun.
