What happened to "rejection e-mails"?
I'm hitting the point of wondering when exactly the auto-generated e-mail for a rejection became an optional item. Like, I know that "pink slips" and "walking papers" have become entirely optional to extinct, but I cannot get over how simply not having a form letter set up for a rejection has become an alien concept, and ghosting an applicant is considered acceptable.
I've had several applications that are only noted internally as having been dealt with, but I don't receive an email with a rejection template. And, to make matters worse, the inconsistency between hiring managers is particularly appalling. I've submitted applications to separate departments within one "campus," and one person has a form rejection template, while another, who had my name in their box twice, did not.
Seriously, a city job didn't have the decency to have a form email.
Workday doesn't even have an automatic email set up to go out when someone marks an application as "not chosen". Nor does Indeed, which is particularly irritating. I'm beginning to think I should halt job hunting and get a couple of certifications that have a coaching system as part of the investment.
