New to DnD

5.5 Edition

I have watched some DnD campaigns - my favorite one being Relics and Rarities. I have always have an affinity for activities with storytelling that runs the engines of imagination and creativity. I played by first DnD session 2 weeks ago at Ottawa Carlingwood Library.

I am still absolute beginner with no experience but I have always loved creating imaginary worlds, creatures, powers. I am wondering what being DM will be like for me? I have no experience and I will need get familiar with system, mechanics, controls and so many other aspects. I have these ideas brewing in my brain. But I wonder is there a way for me to check what being DM is like because I don't want to jump into it and then disappoint other players or just mess up the plot or game.

Any advices will be hugely appreciated!!
