South Oakland

:Script: DISCUSSION

So I'm currently walking back from the Schenley overlook, and my Google Maps gave me the option of going through South Oakland or going around through Central Oakland past the Fine arts building across the bridge. The latter option took 11 extra minutes, but I opted for it because I am not at all familiar with South Oakland. How comfortable/ okay would I have been walking through it at about 8:00 p.m. tonight, given it is right after a football game?

Some context about myself because it is important, I am a 6 ft white male. Not looking for judgment, just genuine answers because I just opted for the familiar route
