I’ve had this monitor for a week now. I just wanted to share my experience with anyone who might be considering buying this. I use it with my Xbox Series X. Before this one I had a 27” Alienware IPS monitor and it was a massive upgrade.

Switching to an OLED panel is so jarring when you’re used to the backlight of any other monitor type because with this panel the blacks are absolutely dark and it takes time to get used to how awesome that is. For instance when some games have dark loading screens with only a symbol or a bar loading on the bottom of the screen, it makes your brain think the monitor isn’t even on because the black parts of the image are just… not lit 😆 and when you’re HDR gaming, light sources such as torches or lightbulbs look very bright but the actual dark parts of a scene look actually dark so it looks SO MUCH like real life. It feels like looking outside into a scene through a window I’m not even joking. the difference between light - dark areas is apparently what makes OLED screens magical.

My experience with connecting the monitor to the Xbox has been very smooth, although it took some tinkering to figure out what dolby vision is and isn’t. Most importantly, most games don’t support dolby vision. I found out Gears 5 supports it and from my experience, it didn’t blow me away. Regular HDR gaming is already mind blowing enough. I just turned off the dolby vision setting after trying it out for a couple of minutes. This feature of the monitor should not be the sole reason you’re buying it because it’s not that different than regular HDR gaming imo.

I’d say my preferred HDR setting is definitely HDR Peak 1000. It makes the blacks look absolutely dark while retaining the color accuracy of the games.

Who else owns this beast of a gaming monitor? it’s definitely worth every penny.
