What in the world is this disease?
I'm a woman in my 20s, I've never been as sick as I am now. I probably never caught Epstein Barr while I was a child. It's been THREE weeks and nothing has changed! It started with back pain, then a stiff neck and a headache, they thought it was Dengue Fever because my fever didn't go down, no one investigated. I continued to feel unwell and a doctor said it was a "flu" and sent me home. I got worse and ended up being hospitalized with suspected meningitis, my lymph nodes are the size of a small plum and out of nowhere the doctor's suspicion turned into lymphoma (?) — I had to pay for a private consultation with an infectious disease specialist for her to say that for two weeks, no one was able to give me a simple diagnosis of mononucleosis, in fact in my discharge report, the doctor ruled out the possibility (?????)
My symptoms are strong, I have a fever every day and I have hepatosplenomegaly, my liver enzymes are those of an 87-year-old alcoholic man. My blood count only has lymphocytes and atypical lymphocytes, reactive lymphocytes and lymphocytes with nucleoli. What the hell kind of disease is this? It feels like a truck runs over me every day and crushes me. My eyes WON'T STOP SWELLING, I can't take a shower without sitting on a stool, I can't eat alone and it only gets worse at night, I've lost count of how many times I've changed my sweaty clothes — WHEN DOES IT GET BETTER? My antibodies were relatively high, both IgG and IgM, but I can't take this pain anymore, all my joints are on fire, my muscles feel like they've run 2 marathons, my spleen feels like it's constantly contracting. I feel like a Victorian child with typhoid fever!!!
