Sinnerswap but with NPCs??

SpoilerGeneral Discussion

So like, I have zero clue how to post this, as usual with my posts to any subreddit, and no clue what to flair it as. BUT,

I have been thinking of that fanart for if the Sinners got swapped with their important counterparts, i.e. Sinclair and Demian, or Heathcliff and Cathy. I've also thought of what I call the Descent AU, the one where Kromer takes Sinclair's place, Ahab would replace Ishmael, and Nelly would Replace Heathcliff.

And so! What if there were an AU where some NPCs were to replace our lovely Sinners? Their (changed) backstories and cantos would mirror similarly popular stories, of which I'm not exactly completely familiar with myself, but could be learned and expanded upon, or changed, as needed! A list of the current replacements and the stories I've thought up so far include:

--

#12: Gregor from Metamorphosis would be changed with Aya, an NPC who dies a quick and saddeningly nonchalant death. Her story would be based upon the incredibly old, and frankly really... "strange" manga called Ayako. I would describe it briefly, but it's themes and overall story make my head hurt.

#9: Rodion from Crime and Punishment could be changed with Suade, whom I have yet to select a story for. This is due to the fact she shares no similar name with any major characters in popular classics, and that I don't have enough knowledge about her life to fit a specific one onto her, nor can I just make up a bunch of things like with the barely written Aya.

#7: Though one could argue this seems odd, I'd think Aeng-Du has potential for a really interesting story based upon the Shakespearean play King Lear. Not only does it have an English, Chinese, and even a Korean adaptation, it seems very fitting for a loyal and stout follower of Kim to take the role of Cordelia.

#3: As unfortunate as it is, I do believe Dulcinea to be one of the better picks to take Sancho's place. Perhaps the story shall remain similar, with Dulcinea finding the joy of dreaming too late, and being unable to save Sancho and Father Quixote, or maybe it can be similar to my idea for Descent, where Sancho ingites the spark of dreaming from deep within Dulcinea, and they are both forced to confront Father Quixote, whom they fail to save in time, as in Base Limbus.

#1: And Shrenne, who shares the status of being the NPC to make me like this idea so alongside Aya, would take on Yi Sang's position. Her story, as I see it, will be similar to A Clockwork Orange, with a bit of 1984 mixed in or so. I will need to read A Clockwork Orange to be certain, but if I'm correct, a course of events such as her being left behind to take the fall for the Tech Liberation, and her being conditioned into a subservient lapdog sounds very similar to the Orange's plot, yes?

And so ends my current ideas for Sinnerswap but with NPCs. I shall also note that while Dante is the Manager in Limbus, and I imagine Vergilius to be the manager in Sinnerswap, I have picked Charon out as the Manager for this take. Vergilius is the Driver, and Dante is the Color. This is similar to my Descent Idea, where Dante remains the Manager but is Vergilus' level of experienced and capable, only dragged down by having to share his power with old crones like Ahab and Hermann.

If this post stays up, I will check back occasionally for suggestions, feedback, etc. Until then, I'm off to continue Managering and playing other games.
