different state pay

hi! i was wondering if you are currently employed at an hourly rate in the state you were hired in, but you had to move to another state for personal reasons.. does pay change to what that state offers? to put it in perspective, i’m in louisiana and the state i may be going to is massachusetts. the rent is triple there than what i pay now.
