Phantom 1:1?

I was in the 8:15 pulse for the 8/29 show. As we were transitioning to the stairs for Wishing You Were Somehow Here Again, I watched our Phantom climb down the ladder. He held out his hand to a woman who was right next to me and led her back to the area where Christine and Raoul perform All I Ask of You. Was this a normal part of the show? If so, does anyone know what happened?
