If not obesity then what?
I know the general- easy to follow (I would argue lazy for doctors to say in cases where being overweight isn’t the issue) instructions for helping NAFLD is lose weight.
But my mom, my two brothers, my sister, and I all ended up with this. My sister is a model - like an actual paid nearly at super model level model. My brother has a six pack. My other brother is a noodle of a human being and so is my mom.
I have eaten clean my entire life (ish) because I got into bodybuilding at 16 and then jumped ship to CrossFit in the 2000s. I drank ONCE on my 21st birthday because I knew my family had liver problems and cancer issues so I was always paranoid and stayed extra healthy.
I’m tall for a woman (here) at 5’11 which I guess can look big? But I’m….like solid. Not even in a toot my horn way- in a baffled way because what weight is there….to lose?
When I asked my doctor for a better explanation she just said lifestyle changes- but like what???
Im a creature of habit- I eat the same foods on rotation. Overnight oats for breakfast. Snack is a smoothie (berries banana mango soy milk orange and colon bloom (psyllium husk because it’s good for your liver and gallbladder) Lunch is kimchi and two hard boiled eggs. Snack is usually apples and peanut butter. Dinner chickpeas and green beans with grilled chicken.
Supplements are multivitamin and colon bloom (fiber powder 21st a day).
I workout heavy lifting and cardio 5xs a week. Day 6 is light cardio and deep stretching. Day 7 is a rest day I use to do yard work and whatever else needs doing around the house.
I’m not trying to be difficult or an asshole, but I genuinely don’t know what to change? Is it the kinds of food maybe?
Or if it’s not lifestyle can there be other causes? Like if it’s genetic with all five of us having it- like what could it be? What should I ask to be looked into?
