Post surgery question about Dentures
I had my surgery yesterday where all of my upper teeth got removed. Not the most fun for a Friday I have had but I am glad to be in less pain today. I have a quandary and the office is closed and it's not an emergency.
Is it okay to put gauze between my gums and lower teeth? I should have thought of this yesterday but I did not. I have vascular Ehlers Danlos and chronic jaw dislocations that destroyed my teeth. I realized that I may pop my stitches if my jaw goes. The denture needs it's fitting because it doesn't let me close my jaw and my jaw is tired. It has been 24 hours. I don't want to do something that will make problems though so is this a safe idea? I just need a break from my mouth being open. I will obviously put the dentures back in for sleep and food but I was told to either sleep with them in or to wear them in the day.
Thank you in advance. I did still leave a voicemail for the doctor. Hopefully he can understand it as I have a temporary list and random southern accent suddenly.
