We’re All Right: RDJ is Victor AND Connected to Stark

There’s been a lot of back-and-forth online about Robert Downey Jr. being cast as Victor Von Doom. Some fans are intrigued , others are worried. People love RDJ as Tony Stark and they love Doom as a character, but mixing the two feels risky.
The main arguments I see are:

1. He must be a Tony Stark variant.
2.He’ll never take the mask off, and RDJ is just providing the voice.

Here’s what we actually know:
We just wrapped the Multiverse Saga, which introduced audiences to the idea of variants—same character, different faces, and worlds colliding. That matters.
The directors have said the only person who could play their Victor is RDJ, and they confirmed he is Victor Doom.

To me, this suggests that yes, in his universe he is Doom, but his face will matter. That familiar Stark face gives him a built-in way to manipulate our heroes emotionally, which is exactly what Doom would do.
So I think the truth is somewhere in the middle: he is Doom, but the Stark connection won’t be ignored. In other words, everyone’s kinda right.

The only theory I don’t buy is the “we’ll never see his face” angle. RDJ wasn’t paid over $100M just to voice a character behind a mask. And let’s be real..our heroes will react to him looking like Stark. That’s the dramatic tension Marvel is paying for.
