I (23F) said the l-word to him (23M)

TL;DR: AH AH AH AH!!! I said the “l-word” and now I can’t interact with him without feeling embarrassed and gross.

Okay, first things first. We started a FWB thing in March (ish). We were very heavy on the “friends” part. I genuinely have never felt like someone saw me as more than a sum of body parts before him. Anywho, he asked me on a real date, and we have been exclusively seeing each other to explore the possibility of a serious relationship for a month or so. He has told me that he would be ready to commit at any point, but he respects my decision to take things slow (he’s in law school, and I don’t want to complicate his already busy life. I’m also a little allergic to cats, and he has a cat, so I’m not sure how things would look if we ended up moving in together down the road). Okay, with all that context out of the way, here’s my issue:

We both had a couple of drinks. One thing led to another, and we started being physically intimate. (Side note: I literally can’t keep my hands off of him. It’s the craziest thing.) I ended up saying “I love you”, and immediately froze and sank off of the bed in embarrassment. He reassured me that it was okay. He brought it up in the car the next day, and said, “Yeah, we had been drinking, and things slip out sometimes. Don’t feel weird about it.” I had actually not thought about it again until he brought it up. I was MORTIFIED. Anyways, now I feel weird. He has handled it well, I think. I just literally can’t even make eye contact with him without feeling really embarrassed and gross.

How should I proceed? I don’t even know how to interact with him without feeling disgusted with myself. Again, I don’t think he has done anything wrong, but I feel like that arguably complicates things further. Like, my discomfort is entirely my fault. Any advice?
