Previous employer signed me up for health insurance after being gone for four years
Location: NC I worked for a medical company in 2021 (also left in 2021), and never received benefits from the job. I was never signed up under their health insurance. I got to the doctor today to find out that I had been added to their group policy and my REAL insurance couldn’t be processed. It kept kicking back claims because this insurance was put in as my primary. It was active from 8/1/25-8/1/25. The insurance company won’t tell me/don’t know how it was added. It has caused a four hour delay in getting a procedure done. Is it legal for them to sign me up for an insurance plan without my consent? I know it was terminated, but since I never had benefits through them I don’t think my information should be accessible for that purpose. Or if they should even have it this far past my quitting date.
