Looking for recs where the book starts with MMC finding out he was betrayed or the reason he dumped/ran off/didnt hear from the FMC in the past were wrong. He takes care of business and then hunts for her and grovels/wins her over/says your mine now

Looking for a specific type of book where we start the book with MMC having the “oh crap” moment of his mistake and then hunting down the FMC after he rectifies it. (So maybe if mafia then he’d get rid of the betrayers before going after her). Or maybe he finds out about a concealed pregnancy right before the book and finds out he was betrayed because people knew and told her he knew.

Ideally it would be more than a couple months after he’s seen the FMC for the last time. I don’t want it to be the FMC who tells him- I want her to be long gone. He has to make the forward motion to find her.

So something like Run Posy Run- but move the realization to the beginning or even before the book starts.

Or the Cate Wells books where he almost immediately finds out his family ran her off- but I want it to not be that the FMC tells him.

Any thing out there?
