Does Instagram completely ignore the list of "hidden words" in comments?

Instagram supposedly lets you block comments with certain words.

Under settings:

1. Click "Hidden Words"
2. Under "Custom words for messages and comments", enable "Hide comments"
3. Click "Manage custom words and phrases"
4. Enter any words or phrases you'd like blocked from comments

That way, if you're tired of seeing a word or phrase, it should block all comments containing that word.

Except it doesn't. At all. The feature is completely broken. Has anyone managed to get it working?
