how do i calm down an episode once it’s started?

hi! i had my first major psychotic episode almost exactly a year ago, and its anniversary has started giving me another one. ive started getting paranoid about being watched and hearing whispers or doors opening and closing, and am starting to get the urge to hurt myself. i was otherwise very stable as recent as like four days ago and this is really kind of messing with me. id like it to stop asap so i can return to normal again, preferably without hospitalization this time.

a lot of the general advice i’ve received regarding psychosis is on how to remain stable and not slip back into psychosis. but i really don’t know any tips for getting back to a stable place. last time it took essentially six months before i felt like i was normal again, but things were a lot worse than they are now, so i have hope i can resolve this in a couple weeks.

i have an appointment with my psychiatrist in a couple days, and i can schedule something with my therapist (but i don’t want to break my regular schedule there). my girlfriend was able to take care of me last night but she’s busy so i can’t rely on constant care from her. let me know what you all think.
