THD or regular cut them out

I have recently been having issues with two decent sized hemorrhoids that at sitting kind of low. They tend to swell multiple times a week and will bleed once a week about for the last month. At first the doctor said we would have to cut them out before he saw them. Once he saw them he said we could try THD because they aren’t protruding out that far. They talked up the removal to being absolutely horrible like no work for 2 weeks and no grappling for 6 weeks, they didn’t outright say it but nudged me in the direction of doing thd first as I should recover in a week. The problem is to see the doctor that does that I have to wait another month and a half for a consultation with this doctor… so I am looking for a little insight into what I should do. Is the pain and recover that different?
