Streak 317: Fake It Till You Make It
"Fake it till you make it" is a cliché, but I think it's good advice. I'm learning to code every day, but I often get discouraged. It seems like an impossible task. I really admire developers who managed to learn all kinds of programming languages and concepts. There is an infinite amount of knowledge to learn. The documentation for many APIs and tools is often unclear. I can imagine how difficult it would be to learn and develop without AI.
I spend many hours using Claude Code to develop my projects. It's 100% vibe coding. If it's Python, at least I can say I understand 80% of the code, but for Swift, I can barely explain how it works. However, I still keep learning every day. Through interacting with Claude while vibe coding, I have still learned many interesting concepts: how to design systems, how to solve problems, and how to think strategically.
I can build very impressive applications using AI, but I always feel hesitant when I claim, "I made this." But do I have to emphasize that AI wrote all the code every time? Hopefully, my actual coding skills can catch up eventually. I might never be as good or fast as AI, but I hope one day I will have the skills to build decent tools all by myself.
