Google Business Video Verification Failed: No “View of Surrounding Area” in a Mall Office
My business is in an office tower inside a mall. You enter through the mall parking lot, go inside, walk 1–2 minutes to the elevator, then go up to our floor.
Here’s what I’ve done for the video verification:
- First video: Started on our office floor. I showed our office sign, businesses beside us, and staff-only areas. It was rejected for not showing the “surrounding area.”
- Second video: I started inside the mall, showed mall signage and neighboring businesses on the way to the elevator, then up to our office. Rejected again, still says no “view of surrounding area.”
Google’s instructions say to show “street signs, neighboring businesses, or recognizable landmarks.” That’s the problem:
- There are no street signs near the mall entrance.
- It's a massive parking lot. The closest street sign is a mile away.
- I did show multiple neighboring businesses inside the mall, clearly visible.
Still getting denied.
Anyone else dealt with this? How do you pass this step if your business is in a mall or large commercial building with no exterior signage or nearby streets? I can try again, and maybe I will start in the parking lot, show the front of the mall entrance, and then walk up to our office, but it will take longer than 2 minutes to walk there.
Any workaround that worked for you?
