Lived my worst nightmare in kala patthar, havelock
So, 4 of us(2 couple) from bangalore decided to go to Andaman for a chilled leisure trip of 5 days. We directly went to havelock after landing in port blair and for return also plan was the same.
Yesterday was the last day, and both of our wives forgot to buy something that they liked in kala patthar beach.
So at around 6 pm we thought of simply visiting kala patthar and checking, else would be a last nice visit to the best beach. And surprisingly 1 shop was open. But it was already pitch dark the time we reached.
After another 30 minutes we left from there, and it starts raining, heavy, too heavy, infact the worst rain i saw in my 4 days in havelock where it rained always.
While returning i was riding in front, as it was dark and raining, my wife suggested we ride fast and cross the jungle area fast, but i knew havelock was safe, so i was more concerned about the road and was riding slow.
There was a big pothole in the centre of the road, which was completely covered by rain, and the faint headlight if scooter made it look like its a good road, so i took my scooter from there.
And bang, we fell down. My wife is pregnant, and fall of such intensity, i get shit scared. Raining heavy, pitch dark, both lying down, i check her, she starts crying and screaming. Doesn’t tell me whats causing her pain.
I start crying and panicking, what have i done. 😭
My friends help us to get up, we both are bleading from hand and leg, they suggest us to go to a hospital, which i was sure doesnt exist in havelock.
I thought of at least going to a place where there is light and help, but the scooter doesn’t start.
Its raining, its dark, we both bleeding but the scooter is not starting.
It was horror.
My friends gave us their scooter and asked us to leave. They let us go and themselves stayed in such horror situation… but soon he mananged to start the scooter and were behind us.
Meanwhile my wife stops crying and tells to go to room instead, as now she feels the pain is more in hand and leg and assured me there was no impact on stomach, and we should check if hotel has first aid and also we wern’t sure if havelock had hospital. And it was raining.
We did basic first aid at hotel.
Yesterday night it rained heavily, while lying near her in bed, i could only thank god for keeping us both safe. The situation could have been so much worse.
Got our wounds properly dressed in port blair today and now back to blr.
So, coming to the point, Please avoid kala patthar at night, especially while its raining, the road is very bad.
Also other than god, it was helmet that saved us, so please dont remove helmet for however short distance.
