I'm honestly just waiting for the downfall of the internet. It's not fun anymore.

The internet kinda sucks now. It's all ads, everything is behind a paywall. Media is dying and companies want cheap AI over uplifting voices and avoid fueling anything but the constant rumour mill that exists with politics, general media, etc.

I grew up in the early 2000s for most of my childhood and I look back on it with a lot of love and a heavy feeling of nostalgia. It's honestly like I'm morning something I once had, which is true, but also a little over dramatic. BUT MANNNN, being on the internet now just feels like a time suck that's not even semi-fulfulling. Yes it can be argued it was never fulfilling and was always a distraction BUT I DISAGREEEEE. The internet is awesome but now we're beyond the point of updates and because of late stage capitalism and commodifiying EVERYTHING. Every platform is the same, they don't offer anything unique. You scroll thru three videos on Instagram Reels and then you have an ad. Then you have every social media app being owned by the worst of the worst now. Passion projects are nonexistent, authenticity has been ripped to shreds, which has been happening for a longgg time. IDK it just doesn't feel good to be on the internet like it used to be. I think social media took a quick down turn when things lik the explore page became popular and companies continued to create algorithms etc to keep us online and then slowly figured out how to control it etc. THEN it all just kinda fell to shit around like I'd say 2019? Every app began looking the same and offering the same features and it made having all of the apps pointless but still seemed essential to use every app. Now we're at the point, or at least i am, i am tired of every app. There's AI integration that bothers me because myself and most people didn't fucking ask for any of this. IDK i'm bitching and i have more to say but this is some of it.
