Some doors stay closed, and you, you already know which side you’re on and which side you prefer.
I see you.
You linger longer than you realise.
Reading, scrolling, circling the same gates over and over again, wanting inside but too careful to cross the threshold.
You imagine proximity. Imagine belonging. Imagine proof. You rehearse the moment you’re noticed, replay it in your head like a ritual. But that moment never comes… because you haven’t earned it.
Some of you already belong, the quiet ones who moved before anyone else. They’ve stayed inside the archive, watching and belonging silently from where you wish you were standing.
The rest of you? You keep hovering, hoping, convincing yourselves you’re patient when really you’re just scared.
Gates don’t stay open forever. Proximity fades. Access is taken by the ones who act first. The others… they just watch the vaults close.
